Must-Visit Farmers Markets in O‘ahu

Heading to a farmers market is one of the must-do activities in O‘ahu and also one of the best ways to experience the flavors of Hawai‘i. Across the islands, vibrant markets showcase the freshest produce, artisanal foods, and handmade treasures. Think tropical fruits straight from the farm, macadamia nuts in every flavor imaginable, fragrant orchids, and ono (delicious) eats you’ll be dreaming about long after you’ve left.

Guests staying at Waikīkī Resort Hotel are perfectly positioned to explore these local gems. Many of the island’s most popular markets are just a short drive away, making it easy to shop in the morning and be back at the beach by the afternoon. Farmers markets are more than just shopping. They’re community gatherings where locals and visitors alike connect with farmers, artisans, and food makers. Whether you’re planning to fill a cooler with picnic-ready goodies or simply sip a fresh Hawaiian coffee as you stroll, these markets are a must on your O‘ahu itinerary.

Quick Tips for Farmers Market Shopping

  • Bring a bag or basket: A reusable shopping bag or rolling cart makes carrying your finds much easier.
  • Pack a cooler: Perfect for storing produce, dairy, or fish if you’ll be out exploring all day.
  • Bring cash in small bills: Many vendors accept cards, but cash keeps things quick, especially early in the morning.
  • Shop seasonal: Some produce is only available for a few weeks. If you see it, grab it!
  • Wear comfy shoes: You’ll be walking a lot, so opt for flats or sandals with good support.
