Families often gather at this beach park as well, as it is a popular spot for beachcombing and picnics. Children should be watched very carefully, as should weak swimmers, due to occasional dangerous conditions and the reef area.

Hanauma Bay is know as the best protected cove for scuba diving or due to its advanced and diverse marine life and calm waters.

Ala Moana Beach Park

Known as "The Path to the Sea", this is a beautiful 76-acre park located along the south shore just west of the famous Waikiki beach area. This beach is noted for its excellent swimming, surfing, and body boarding. There are also lovely shaded picnic facilities and grassy areas perfect for family outings.
